EVO Drag Races Shelby GT500 Mustang and Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Coupe

The Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Coupe and the Ford Shelby GT500 Mustang are two different cars from two separate schools of thought that we seriously doubt will ever be cross-shopped by consumers even in North America where they are both available. In Europe, even if one wanted to, you can't officially buy the Ford.

Despite their many differences, there's one thing that both cars lay claim to being good at: straight line acceleration, and it is this aspect of the two sports models that UK car magazine EVO set out to put to the test with a good ol' fashion drag race.

Vath Brings the Wrath on the Mercedes C63 AMG Coupé Black Series with Track and Aero Package

First, Mercedes-Benz brought us the 451hp (457PS) C63 AMG Coupe with the option of an AMG Performance package that lifts output to 480hp (487PS).

Then came the more aggressively tuned and styled Black Series edition with 510hp (517PS), and if that wasn't enough, Mercedes also offered two more optional packages for this model, the Aerodynamics and Track kits as well as an assortment of standalone carbon parts…

If you somehow managed to tick every single box in Mercedes-Benz's options list while ordering your C63 AMG Coupe Black Series Edition, including the Aerodynamic and Track packages, but are still not satisfied, then your next monetary adventure will be with an independent tuning shop like Vath.

New Cadillac ATS 3.6 vs. BMW 335i and Mercedes C350 in MT's 6-Cylinder Rematch

Like the VW Golf, the BMW 3-Series has been dominant for so long, shrugging off one newcomer after another, that it practically defined the premium compact sports sedan segment.

This, of course, makes it not only harder for BMW engineers to come up with something better every time there's a replacement due, but it also makes it the car all rivaling manufacturers have set as their benchmark.

Cadillac has made quite a fuss about its new ATS being a bona-fide, Nürburgring-bred sports saloon that can take on the best – i.e. the brand new, F30 3-Series.

Excuse Me While I Drift Right By You Around the Corner

We have seen many videos of Russian drivers trying to overtake motorists at stoplights, but most of those filmed attempts that make it on the internet for our amusement end up in tears and shattered metals.

Not this one, though, as the driver of the black Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG (that's the 6.3-liter V8-powered model with 451 horses and rear-wheel drive) made a sweet pass with a perfectly executed drift without any incident whatsoever.

Check out the short video clip for yourself right past the break.

Thanks for the tip Vassia P.!

Ralf Schumacher's Mercedes Clips an Air Line that Smacks Pit Crew Leaving Four Injured

An accident with Ralf Schumacher's C-Class Coupe that occurred at the pit lanes during DTM practice at Zandvoort last Friday left four Mercedes-Benz crew-members injured.

Video footage shows Michael Schumacher's younger brother clipping an air hose with his Mercedes-Benz racecar's wing as he was leaving the pits. The airline then snapped and struck several crew members throwing them on the ground with force and almost decapitating one of the men.

Spy Shots: Next Generation 2014 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Sedan

Here comes the new version of one of Benz's best-selling models, the C-Class saloon, a prototype of which was caught testing by our spy photographers at Germany's Nürburgring.

It's hard to tell what the final production model will look like on the outside from these shots as Mercedes-Benz's engineers have yet to toss away the heavy camouflage, but the next S-Class, which will arrive earlier than the C-Class, will give us an idea of the styling direction.

In factory guise, the C63 AMG Wagon has a 6.2-liter naturally aspirated V8 engine that churns out 457-horses and 600Nm (442 lb-ft) of peak torque.

New Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Performance Studio Edition is for Japan Only

Not that Mercedes-Benz is having a problem selling every C63 AMG that rolls out of the factory, but the Stuttgart-based premium carmaker wanted to treat Japanese buyers to a limited edition version specially customized for the domestic market.

In contrast to most special edition models these days that rely on added amenities at the best to stand out, the new C63 AMG Performance Studio Edition has actually been modified inside and out as well as under the hood.

Spied: First Shots of 2014 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Interior

After capturing photos of the cabin of the next S-Class W222, our spy shooters have managed to nab the first interior shots of another upcoming Mercedes-Benz model, the 2014 C-Class.

The first thing you will probably notice on the dashboard is the tablet like fixture hovering on top of the newly styled circular air vents. Unless Mercedes-Benz has a surprise in store for us, we suspect that the high-resolution display will be fixed on the dash, as is the case with the new A- and B-Class models.

The menus on the screen will be operated using the controller in the center console, right behind the manual or automatic gear shifter. A secondary TFT color display is built into the dashboard between the instrument cluster gauges.

The test car seen here was fitted with a large panoramic roof, which some reports say may be offered with the Magic-Sky Control option, which utilizes electro chromatic glass technology to turn the windowpane from transparent to opaque at the touch of a button.

VÄTH Tunes…Factory Tuned Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Coupe Black Series Edition to 746-Horses

Last summer, Mercedes-Benz launched a Black Series Edition of its C63 AMG Coupe featuring a more hardcore chassis setup and an uprated 6.2-liter V8 producing 510hp (517PS) to target those that were not impressed by the 451hp (457PS) "standard" model.

As it seems, VÄTH was not impressed with Mercedes-Benz's proposal either as the aftermarket tuner has developed a new performance package for the C63 AMG Coupe Black Series Edition called V63 Supercharged.

Edo Competition Rolls Out 592hp Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Estate

Once upon a time not too long ago, 400 ponies was an impressive figure for any exotic supercar, but these days, even a standard Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Estate comes with 451-horses (457PS) kicking under its hood.

Still, even that is not enough for Edo Competition, which is why the German tuning firm has presented a new performance package for Merc's premium station wagon.

Mercedes-Benz Shows us the Darker Side of the C63 AMG Coupe Black Series

The most potent member of the C-Class Coupe family, the C63 AMG Black Series Edition, is the star of a new online video from Mercedes-Benz USA titled, for obvious reasons, the "Dark Side".

The short black and white spot shows the 510-horsepower (517PS) two-door model forcefully sliding around corners and at times, grunting its big 6.2-liter V8 powerplant (though not as near as much as we would have liked).

Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Coupé Black Series is the New DTM Safety Car
