Former City Councilman in Smart ForTwo T-Bones a Ford Crown Vic Interceptor

A red light camera caught an accident between a 2008 Smart ForTwo mini and a Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor that occurred on September 12, 2012, in Palm Coast City, Florida.

The footage shows a Flagler County Sheriff’s Ford cruiser driven by Deputy Darrell Butler, 26, making its way through the traffic with the car's emergency lights activated.

Spy Shots: Smart Engineers Put ForFour Test Mule on the Road

We will not blame you for thinking that this prototype looks more like an amusing effort to create a long-wheelbase version of the Renault Twingo since that's what the body suggests, but what you see here is said to be a test mule for Smart's second take on the ForFour theme.

You may remember that our spies recently caught up with Smart engineers trying out a shorter mule for the next ForTwo, again using body parts from the Renault Twingo.

The reasoning behind this move is that Daimler and Renault are co-developing a new chassis and mechanical components for use in both the Smart cars and the next Twingo as part of their extended partnership.

The new ForStars Concept will be Smart’s main attraction at the upcoming Paris Auto Show at the end of the month.

According to the company while instantly recognizable as a Smart, the ForStars, previews the design language of the next generation ForTwo while also hinting at possible new addition to the range.

Some notable styling elements include the design of the front and rear lights, which Smart says, “seem to push outwards like arrows – like drips on the cockpit window of an airplane as it takes off”.

Scoop: First 2014 Smart ForTwo Test Mule Caught Out in the Open, Concept May Debut in Paris

This admittedly funny looking prototype with the Renault Twingo-sourced headlamps (pre-facelift), taillights (facelift) and door handles is in fact a test mule for the next generation of the Smart ForTwo.

If you're wondering why the Daimler Group's brand would use bits and pieces from the French carmaker's model, it's because the two automakers have forged an alliance and will co-develop several vehicles including the replacements for the Smart ForTwo and the Renault Twingo, which will share a common platform and engine range.

Even though there's nothing that this test mule can tell us about the next ForTwo's exterior looks, Smart may preview its two-seater model with a thinly disguised concept as early as this September at the Paris Motor Show.

It's very likely that the small city car wil be modeled after the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show ForVision Concept and the 2012 Detroit Auto Show ForUs Study.

Smart Ad Finds Plastic Surgery Addicts That Should Feel Jealous of ForTwo's Facelift

German advertising agency BBDO Proximity Berlin is walking on a pretty thin line with its commercial for the cosmetically updated 2012 Smart ForTwo that was originally revealed at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year.

The TV spot shows half a dozen people who underwent extensive plastic surgery to change their appearance before a tagline saying, "There is an exciting new facelift in town" pops up on the screen and the revamped ForTwo is revealed.

Oh, the Irony…McLaren SLR Receives Ticket by Officer in Smart ForTwo

One of the fastest and expensive cars produced by Mercedes-Benz's parent company Daimler receiving a ticket by a man in the group's slowest and cheapest vehicle is not something you encounter every day.

You can watch the priceless scene of the officer in a Smart ForTwo writing up a ticket for the unattended and sticker-bombed Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Roadster for parking in a loading zone in Beverly Hills in the video that follows right past the jump.

You Know You Shouldn't Hold a Driver's License When…

Given the main reason why someone would buy a Smart Fortwo in the first place, the number of drivers caught on camera either having a hard time or even not being able to park at all, is simply mind-boggling.

Just looking at the following video makes you wonder how in the world was this person capable of obtaining a driving license.

New Brabus Ultimate 120 Takes the Smart Fortwo Cabrio to the Next Level, but at a Hefty Price…

When it comes to Brabus, it's all about power and speed regardless of the size of the vehicle and both are true for the German tuning firm's latest creation named the Ultimate 120, which is based on the Smart Fortwo Cabrio and will make its world premiere at this week's 2012 Geneva Motor Show.

The name refers to both the output (120PS or 118bhp) and the number of cars Brabus plans to produce but not to its price that is set at a mind boggling €45,900 or about US$61,600 a piece!

Smart to Display Brabus Electric Drive at the Geneva Motor Show

Normally, the name Brabus is associated with high-powered Mercedes cars that can smoke their tires with a stroke of the pedal. Even when Brabus got its hands on the Smart ForTwo, the purpose was to turn the diminutive two-seater into a pocket-rocket.

Yet the latest model bearing the Brabus moniker will emit no smoke whatsoever. Certainly not from its tires and not from its exhaust pipe either. This is because the Brabus electric drive is based on the all-electric, zero emissions version of the ForTwo.

Fortwo Driver Makes a Not So Smart Parking Job

One of the joys of owning a Smart Fotwo is the ability to park in places more fit for a motorcycle than a car, something that comes in very handy in congested cities all over Europe as well as other parts of the world.

However, that doesn't mean you should park anywhere you can because you may be in for an unpleasant surprise upon your return as this owner of what looks like it's the Brabus edition of the ForTwo found out, presumably in Paris, France.

The driver evidently parked the car over a motorized bollard which had enough power to lift the Fortwo partially in the air. Video follows after the break.
