Texas Hold'em: 1,150WHP Dodge Viper vs. 1,300WHP Lamborghini Gallardo

As if the Dodge Viper and the Lamborghini Gallardo supercars aren't powerful and fast enough in completely stock form, some owners opt to tune them to the extreme, sometimes going as far as even doubling their outputs.

During the Texas Invitational Fall 2012 Roll Race Event this past Sunday, October 14, there was a race held between two heavily modified versions of the previously mentioned sports cars, both of which featured twin-turbocharged engines.

Chrome Lamborghini Aventador, Viper ACR and Batmobile Assemble at Times Square

New Yorkers and tourists passing through Times Square were treated to a rare sight this past weekend when an assortment of specialty cars were parked on the road for their viewing pleasure.

The vehicles that stood out the most were a Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 dressed in a chrome foil wrap with contrasting red pin stripes decorating and highlighting the supercar's hard edges, a Batmobile replica from Tim Burton's 1989 Batman film and a Dodge Viper ACR.

1971 Plymouth ViperCuda Packs a Venomous V10 Punch Under its Hood

One of the great things about classic American pony and muscles cars is their simplicity, which pretty much allows you do anything your mind sets out to do, with the only restrictions usually being the amount of time and cash you are willing to spend.

Found for sale on eBay, is this 1971 Plymouth ViperCuda, which as the name suggests, is powered by a V10 engine sourced from the modern day Dodge Viper. But there's more than meets the eye to this creation that started life as a four-seater 1971 Plymouth Barracuda Convertible with a 318 cu.in. (5.2-liter V8) engine.

The comprehensive conversion was performed by Time Machines from Hudson, Florida, which begun by acquiring the intact chassis and V10 engine from a wrecked 2001 Viper with 23,000-miles on the odo.

After stripping the Barracuda's body from the original chassis, they then fabricated a hybrid platform incorporating most parts of the Viper's chassis components including the fully independent suspension.

2013 SRT Viper GTS Loses Part of its Top and Gains a Limey Green Shade in New Rendering

So what if it's only been a day or so since the Chrysler Group dropped the curtains on the 2013 SRT Viper; we already have a speculative take on the slithery sports car, courtesy of Dan Buzdugan from PS-Garage, who dropped this image into our email box.

Calling it a roadster is probably a bit of a stretch as the only part of the roof that has been removed is the center section above the heads of the passengers. In this case, Targa would be a more appropriate name.

Snake Bite: 2013 SRT Viper Finally Breaks Cover in New York [82 Photos and Videos]

Probably the most teased, and awaited, car of this year’s New York Auto Show has been officially unveiled. The 2013 SRT Viper, as it will be known from now on, was launched earlier today at the Big Apple in two flavors: “plain vanilla” Viper and Viper GTS.

After production stopped in 2010, there were reports that the Viper would not be resurrected, which the group later dismissed. Nevertheless, for a while its future was shaky, a fact acknowledged by the company’s executives.

“Beyond being the flagship for the new SRT brand, the launch of the 2013 Viper proves that we simply would not let the performance icon of the Chrysler Group die”, said SRT boss Ralph Gilles.

“Willed to live on by a very special group of performance enthusiasts inside the company and across Viper Nation, this SRT team under our new leadership was challenged to not just continue the legendary Viper, but to create a world-class supercar that would showcase the very best we have to offer.”

2013 SRT Viper Now Appears in Video Shots

The 2013 SRT Viper will no doubt go down as the most oddly leaked car of the 2012 New York Auto Show. After the renderings and photos of the Hot Wheels model, we now have some screenshots of the next Viper.

An anonymous tipster sent the images to Insideline, which suspects that they are sourced from a video that will be shown during the sport coupe's presentation in New York tomorrow afternoon.

What we see in these shaky, but high-resolution screenshots pretty much matches the car in the previous photos and even SRT's own teaser images.

SRT Drops First Teaser Photo of the New 2013 Viper's Interior

After SRT failed to get 2013 "likes" in 2013 minutes on its Facebook page to show us the next Viper, the moderators took a different approach asking for 300 "shares" on a new status, a goal that was achieved rather swiftly.

So, here we are with what could be that last teaser before the actual reveal of the brand-new Viper on April 4 at the 2012 New York International Auto Show, unless SRT has more competitions in mind…

What you see is the next Viper's interior with a shot taken from the front and in an angle from the driver's position showing part of the center console, the red sport seats and the manual gearbox shifter.

If you pay close attention to the seat in the picture, you'll see that SRT's people have sneakily added a bar code that takes you to another page to join next week's webcast once you scan it with a smart phone.

2013 SRT Viper Hot Wheels Toy Car Scales Down Enthusiasm for the Real Thing

And it’s not only the digital rendering from the 2012 Hot Wheel list, as photos of the actual toy car version of the 2013 SRT Viper also slithered their way into an enthusiast forum.

Ferrari has a Very Hard Time Getting Out of Parking Lot, Viper Blasts Right Through

It's only natural that you park an expensive exotic supercar in an enclosed parking space instead of leaving it on the road. Nevertheless, the assurance of safety may come at a cost, as the driver of a Ferrari F430 found out in an underground parking (assumingly) in Poland.

The man had a very difficult time positioning the Ferrari on the ramp leading towards the exit, and all this because of the car's extremely low ride height.

He and some other people, who all appear to be participating in some sort of rally (judging by the decals on the car and their badges), tried all sorts of ways including driving the F430 in reverse, but to no avail. Finally, one of the men lifted the Ferrari's front wing and the car was able to make the ride to the top unscathed.

2013 SRT Viper First Official Teaser Leaves us in the Dark

We suppose it goes with the Viper's slithery nature to keep in the dark, but we can't say we're enthralled with the first official image of the Chrysler Group's re-branded sports car that was released just moments ago on the firm's Facebook page.

The black and white picture outlines the front end of the model, which seems like it will keep the familiar face of the previous generation Vipers, but that's about it.

We'll remind you that the new Viper drops the Dodge nameplate and adopts the SRT moniker.
