There's a brand-new Acura MDX on its way, but if you have been following CarScoop on a regular basis, you probably already know that as we have shared with you spy photos of the three-row crossover.
What you may have not seen yet is the camouflaged prototype of the Acura model on film and on the move.

Good One Bro! Acura NSX Aquaplanes Off the Road Narrowly Missing Bridge

The driver of a modded Acura NSX, sold as a Honda in markets outside of North America, was filmed by a passenger of a Nissan 240SX (we don't know if he was one of his buddies or not) following on from behind when he lost control of the Japanese sports car on a freeway north of the city of San Diego in California.

Given the heavy rain and the fact that the NSX doesn't look like it was going fast, we'll have to assume that the wet conditions forced the mid-engine coupe to aquaplane and slide off the road.

Acura's New RLX Sports 20 Beams of Light on its Headlamps [w/Video]

Sad but true; the only exterior feature we found worthy of a note on the new 2014 Acura RLX that made its world premiere at this week's Los Angeles Auto Show and which will be sold in Japan as the new Honda Legend, are its so-called "Jewel-Eye" LED headlamps.

The rest of the car in terms of styling might as well be a puffed up $50k Honda Accord or if you prefer, a longer and duller looking version of the Acura ILX, which itself, is a glorified Honda Civic under the sheetmetal.

Acura's New 2014 RLX Flagship Sedan Breaks Cover at LA Auto Show [Updated]

It's no secret that Acura is having a hard time positioning itself between parent company Honda and pure luxury carmakers, but the Japanese brand is once again trying to gain a foothold in the executive sedan category with the new 2014 RLX that was unwrapped today in Los Angeles.

Acura had previewed the new RLX with a thinly disguised concept model at this year's New York Auto Show. Not much has changed since then, with the production version of the RL's replacement simply gaining different trims for the bumpers and smaller wheels than the concept study.

For the first time, we see the interior of the RLX. Despite the use of the usual upscale leather materials and wood trims, the overall design brings to mind that of the latest Accord, which isn't something you want to see in a model of this category and price.

Among other interior comfort and convenience features that can be found in the new RLX are dual screens (just like the Accord…) including an 8-inch Navigation screen and a 7-inch On-Demand Multi-Use Display touch screen, plus push-button start, power tilt and telescoping steering, power sunroof, tri-zone automatic climate control, and Bluetooth HandsFreeLink.

Acura Wants us to Marvel at Deleted RDX Scene from The Avengers Movie

Ah yes, the joys of product placement, which calls for the brazen use of a commercially available product or even just a brand name in a fictional setting for a set fee.

For Acura, the fictional setting was this summer's blockbuster movie, Marvel's The Avengers, which on Tuesday, September 25, was released on Blu-ray 3D and DVD.

Motor Trend Pits Lexus LFA Against Acura / Honda NSX in Japanese Supercar Duel

The most famous and for many years, the only Japanese supercar, the Honda NSX that was sold under the Acura moniker in North America, is a very important vehicle not only for its maker, but for the entire industry as well.

The incredible NSX redefined the supercar genre proving that fast and sexy doesn't have to mean making huge sacrifices in ergonomics, quality or everyday drivability.

Slammed Acura TSX Sparks up the Highway

The Real Fast & Furious: Turbocharged Acura Integra Eludes Cops

Most people pull over when they see the red and blue lights and hear the siren from a police car, but not this driver of what appears to be a turbocharged Acura Integra coupe from the mid-to-late-1990s.

At first, the driver of the Integra slows down and steers toward the side of the road when the police officer signals him but as the cop car approaches, he suddenly makes a swift U-turn and makes a run for it.

According to this video shot from the police car's in-board camera, he actually managed to break free, despite the cop's efforts to catch up – at least for the time being, that is… Watch the video right past the break.

Acura Says it's Sorry for Seeking "Not too Dark" African American Actor in Super Bowl Ad

While Acura may have avoided calls when the story on a casting document that called for an African American actor who is "Not too dark" broke out Wednesday morning, the Japanese company has now issued a formal apology.

The document was allegedly leaked to gossip website TMZ by an African American actor "who didn't fit the profile, and who's pissed".

The ad asked for an African American to play the role of a car salesperson in Acura's Super Bowl commercial for the NSX concept featuring Jerry Seinfeld and Jay Leno.

Acura's Casting Call for the NSX Superbowl Ad Asked for a "Not too Dark" African American

Most of you will recall Acura's commercial for the NSX concept from this year's Super Bowl starring Jerry Seinfeld and Jay Leno, but few will probably remember the car salesperson that appeared in the beginning of the clip.

Celebrity gossip and entertainment news site TMZ not only remembers the salesman but it also got its hands on the casting call document, allegedly from an aggravated African American actor who didn’t get the role.

And why is this unnamed actor angry, we hear you ask? Because, for the role of the African American car dealer, the casting call asked for a "Nice looking, friendly. Not too dark" actor.

Tony Stark Drives Acura NSX Roadster to The Avengers Red Carpet Premiere [Photos + Videos]

The world premiere of Marvel's big-budget The Avengers film at the El Capitan Theater in Hollywood on Wednesday gave us the chance to see Acura's NSX Roadster in real life as actor Robert Downey Jr., aka Tony Stark, drove the one-off concept model on the red carpet.

As noted in one of our previous articles, while the custom-made roadster's exterior looks closely follow the lines of the NSX Concept displayed at the Detroit Motor Show this past January, it's a whole different story under the skin as the car utilizes the platform as well as the interior of a first generation NSX.

The two-seater model isn’t the only Acura model to star in the film as specially converted MDX crossovers and TL sedans were used in the movie by S.H.I.E.L.D. agents.

Being an official sponsor of the film, in addition to Downey's arrival in the roadster, The Avengers stars Chris Evans (Captain America), Mark Ruffalo (The Hulk), Chris Hemsworth (Thor) and Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye) also arrived to the theater in a fleet of Acura models.

2013 Acura RLX Concept Sedan Sports New V6 Hybrid System with 370HP and 30mpg Combined

At the 2012 New York Auto Show, Acura revealed the new RLX, which may carry a concept moniker, but we all know that it's a thinly disguised version of the production model slated for launch in North America at the beginning of 2013.

The RLX will replace the RL as Acura's flagship model in a segment that the company has constantly failed to deliver.

The Japanese brand's full-size sedan has approximately the same length as the current RL, but comes with a two-inch longer wheelbase and two-inch shorter front overhang, while both the track and vehicle width increase by around two inches.

The styling builds on Acura's so-called 'Keen Edge' design motif, as seen on the smaller ILX. The concept's stance is accentuated by a set of 20-inch forged aluminum wheels shod in 255/35 R20 high-performance tires, which is probably one of the few elements on the concept that won't make it into production.

Honda Takes a Look at the Past and Future of the NSX Sports Coupe

Back in the early 1990s when the Japanese auto industry went sports car crazy churning out models like the third generation Mazda RX-7, the Mitsubishi 3000GT, the Nissan 300ZX and Skyline GT-R, and the Toyota Supra, one vehicle stood out from the rest and that was the Honda / Acura NSX.

The NSX taught American and European car manufactures a lesson or two on how to build a high-performance sports car that not only looked good but also was reliable and reasonably priced for what it had to offer.

The fact that it remained in production virtually unchanged for 15 years from 1990 to 2005 is a testament to the innovation of its original design.

Acura Releases Second Super Bowl Ad with Jerry Seinfeld Trying to get the NSX

With close to 7 million views on YouTube in just three days after it launched, Acura's first ever Super Bowl commercial titled "Transactions" with Jerry Seinfeld trying to be the first in line to take delivery on the upcoming NSX, is one of the most watched ads of this year's game.

Therefore, it only makes sense that Acura will bet heavily on the commercial to create more buzz around its name.

Following the extended version of the original ad, Acura has released a second commercial with Jerry Seinfeld, who once again attempts to convince the man who secured the first NSX to give him his place through bribery, which in this case involves a Munchkin.

Jerry Seinfeld and Jay Leno Pitch for Acura's NSX Super Bowl Commercial

The Honda group isn't playing games with its Super Bowl spots this year, that's for sure. After recruiting Matthew Broderick to reprise his role as Ferris Bueller in the 2012 Honda CR-X ad, the Japanese firm's premium brand Acura has hired its own stars for its first ever Super Bowl appearance.

The new Acura spot for the upcoming NSX features comedian Jerry Seinfeld with Tonight Show host Jay Leno making a special appearance towards the end of the commercial, the extended version of which you can see right after the break.

The ad shows Jerry Seinfeld going to extremes to be able to be the first one in line to buy the Acura NSX hybrid sports car (seen here in concept guise) that's scheduled to go on sale in 2015, only to be beaten in the end by Leno.
